Cookie Notice
Cookie and Similar Technologies Notice
This notice explains the cookies and browser storage technologies used by SEONIK.
Document v1.35.1 · Effective 2026-09-05
1. Purpose of this notice
This notice explains the cookies and browser storage technologies SEONIK uses, why they are used, and when they are created.
You can choose whether to allow analytics and may decline or withdraw a previous choice at any time in Settings.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website in your browser. Browser storage such as localStorage and sessionStorage can also remember interface preferences or choices.
SEONIK uses the tab sessionStorage entries, preference localStorage entries, essential eligibility session cookie and, only after analytics consent, the Google Analytics cookies listed below. Research conversations are not stored in IndexedDB, Cache Storage, a Service Worker, or a server conversation record.
Conversation records expire after two inactive hours and are cleaned when the timer runs or the relevant storage is next processed. Suspended or restored tabs can delay removal, so explicitly delete conversations after use. Declining analytics does not stop AI processing; do not submit Research questions if you do not want external AI processing.
3. Technologies SEONIK uses
seonik:research-session:v1
- Type
- sessionStorage
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose
- Temporarily stores questions, answers, signed condition state, and result references so the Research conversation can continue after refresh in this tab. It is not sent to Google.
- Created when
- When you start or edit a Research conversation in the current tab
- Retention or expiry
- Until explicit deletion or tab-session end, subject to browser restoration; expires after two inactive hours and is cleaned on timer execution or the next storage processing
- Requirement
- Current-tab conversation continuity
- Impact of refusal
- If browser storage is blocked, Research continues in memory-only mode but refresh restore is unavailable.
seonik:workspace-research-sessions:v1
- Type
- sessionStorage
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose
- Remembers the Research room list, active item, and manual room order in this tab. A title may contain structured search conditions, a sanitized shortened first question, or a user-edited title. Titles and order are not sent to Google.
- Created when
- When you start or switch Research in the current tab
- Retention or expiry
- Until explicit deletion or tab-session end, subject to browser restoration; each item expires after two inactive hours and is cleaned on timer execution or the next storage processing
- Requirement
- Recent Research switching in the current tab
- Impact of refusal
- If browser storage is blocked, Research continues but the list is not restored after refresh.
seonik-theme
- Type
- localStorage
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose

- Created when
- When a SEONIK page first opens or an appearance setting is applied
- Retention or expiry
- Until you clear site data or change the setting
- Requirement
- Appearance preference
- Impact of refusal
- If browser storage is blocked, the system appearance is used. Research features remain available.
seonik:language-preference:v1
- Type
- localStorage
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose
- Remembers only whether the interface language follows the system, Korean, or English. In System mode, the browser language is checked locally and is neither stored nor sent externally.
- Created when
- When the interface language preference is first applied or changed
- Retention or expiry
- Until you clear site data or change the preference
- Requirement
- Interface-language preference
- Impact of refusal
- If browser storage is blocked, each visit uses English for an English browser and Korean for every other browser language. Research features remain available.
seonik:research-eligibility:v2
- Type
- sessionStorage
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose
- Remembers only that the user confirmed they are 18 or older and accepted the current Terms. It stores no date of birth, name, or identity information and is not sent to the external AI provider.
- Created when
- When the user first starts Research, confirms they are 18 or older, and accepts the Terms
- Retention or expiry
- For the current browser-tab session. The browser removes it when the tab session ends.
- Requirement
- Age eligibility for external-AI Research
- Impact of refusal
- Without confirmation, Research using the Gemini API and Google Search Grounding cannot start.
seonik_research_eligibility
- Type
- HttpOnly session cookie
- Provider
- SEONIK
- Purpose
- Stores only a server-signed token containing the current Terms version so browser code cannot forge the 18-or-older confirmation and Terms acceptance. It contains no date of birth, name, question, or answer.
- Created when
- When the user confirms they are 18 or older and accepts the Terms
- Retention or expiry
- For the current browser session. The server signature becomes invalid 12 hours after issuance.
- Requirement
- Server enforcement of external-AI Research age eligibility
- Impact of refusal
- Blocking the cookie prevents Research using the Gemini API and Google Search Grounding from starting.

- Created when
- When you change a Reading & Display preference in Settings
- Retention or expiry
- Until you clear site data or reset the preference to defaults
- Requirement
- Display preference
- Impact of refusal
- If browser storage is blocked, the default reading and display settings are used each visit. Research features remain available.
seonik:interaction-preferences:v1

- Created when
- When you change an Interaction preference in Settings
- Retention or expiry

- It is not created after a decline. Research features remain available.
4. Before you allow analytics
Before a choice and after a decline, SEONIK does not load the Google Analytics script, send Google Analytics requests or consent pings, or create _ga or _ga_* cookies.
Search, answers, Evidence Traceability, official sources, and follow-up questions remain available without analytics.
5. After you allow analytics
After consent, SEONIK uses GA4 to aggregate visits and the use of allowlisted product features. Product events are restricted by an allowlist in the application. Helpful or needs-improvement feedback contains only the selected category and whether an official source was present, never the question or answer text. Feedback on a Google-grounded answer is not sent to Analytics.
SEONIK does not send the original research question, direct identifiers such as names, email addresses or phone numbers, exact announcement titles or official URLs, User-ID, roomId, or a separately created custom client ID as custom Analytics values.
In providing GA4, Google may process technical information such as a cookie-based client identifier, general device and browser information, and an approximate region derived from an IP address. This is distinct from information SEONIK does not send as custom parameters.
6. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Under Settings > Privacy & analytics, you may allow or decline analytics and withdraw a previous consent. Withdrawal stops future Google Analytics requests and attempts to remove SEONIK Analytics cookies from the current browser.
You can also delete or block cookies and site data in browser settings. Browser interfaces may change, so use the official help links below.
Official browser help
7. Third-party provider
The optional analytics provider is Google Analytics. The Google tag activates only after consent, and Google's related systems may process information to analyze visits and use of allowed features.
See the Privacy Policy and the official Google documents below for information about Google's role and international processing. This notice does not independently assign Google a legal classification.
8. Advertising and personalized ads
SEONIK does not currently use personalized-advertising cookies, create long-term advertising profiles, or use the original text of research questions for ad targeting.
If advertising is introduced, SEONIK will reassess and update the technologies, consent structure, and notice before describing it as available.
9. Changes
This is document version v1.35.1. Its effective and reference date is 2026-09-05.
SEONIK will update this notice when there is a material change to a purpose, provider, or storage technology and will request a new choice where required.
